Get Your D365FO Documents from External Apps or Generate them with AI

The session starts with demonstration of current AI capabilities for generating ad-hoc documents from your ERP data. We will show how Word, Excel, or PDF documents can be created from user input, how to use templates, update existing documents and how to distribute them. In the second part, we will show how to expose D365FO document generation (or fetching from print archive) as a web service, OData action or MCP server and use it from Power Apps, M365 Copilot, Agents, and .NET applications. We will compare the benefits and limitations of both approaches and discuss the future of document generation.
